And if you’re disappointed with it being finished too soon, you can always play through again on a harder difficulty level, and see if your Lombax has the necessary skills to be known as Legend. Nexus will delight new players and veterans alike with its humour, enjoyable gameplay, and captivating story. And, once you get all the gadgets, the world expands even more it’s a real pleasure to explore the whole map and gather up every available bolt to buy more weapons and armour. There are numerous small islands and giant animals to hunt, items to collect, and quests to complete for another old friend. The Planet Thrag is a particularly fun place that you can spend an extended amount of time exploring. The planets featured all have their own distinct look and beautifully crafted environments, but sady there just aren’t that many of them. Nexus may not be the most conclusive of the Ratchet and Clank titles, but it is a (mostly) charming sendoff to years of PS3 gaming. The only disappointing factor is that Nexus isn’t especially long. Its $30 / £20 price tag makes it a great incentive to pick it up, and it delivers what you’d expect from the series. Yeah, it’s pretty short, but those are some good five hours that’ll remind you of why you fell in love with Ratchet and Clank in the first place. Nexus’s conclusion is weak and its cliffhanger ending only seems to exist to build up momentum for future adventures. At one point, you travel through a museum that highlights some major victories and characters in the series, but they don’t provide any major significance in the story. Some serious moments of reflection let you feel for Ratchet and his friends, but are then brushed off and forgotten. Unfortunately, this well-crafted adventure ends too abruptly and doesn’t give our heroes complete closure. Think of Nexus as the end of an adventure, a tying of loose ends after years of games on the PlayStation 3.
